Komoot is a small startup company which redefines interactive route planning from scratch. This fully interactive three-dimensional height profile has been programmed as a part of the complex web application. GPS data could be dynamically displayed in a cross-section visualization. All textures are interchangeable at runtime and allow esthetic integration of the vertical profile in different environments.
An extensive Flash / Javascript interface allows the configuration and communication of the visualization at runtime.Besides zoom features and the ability to show and hide different modules, also sceenshots could be created for further use as a thumbnail for Web or the iPhone application. In addition all metrics and texts can be localized.
The basic idea for a 3D profile and the design comes from FARN.
Note: For the demo I've created a skin which is inspired by Süperfad's Sprinter Commercial.
